Abstract

Climate change is a common challenge faced by human society today.

Actively addressing climate change and accelerating the transition to clean energy and low-carbon development have become a global consensus.

At the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit, 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were officially adopted. Eight years have passed since their release, and countries worldwide have been actively implementing measures in response.

China’s construction waterproofing materials primarily consist of waterproof membranes and waterproof coatings, with asphalt-based membranes being the dominant type. Polymer waterproof membranes are encouraged by government policies.

In 2020, China's production of construction waterproofing materials reached 2.515 billion square meters, while enterprises above a designated scale achieved a total operating revenue of 108.7 billion yuan.

The main export destinations for China's construction waterproofing materials include Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. In 2020, the export value reached 38.75 billion USD, marking a year-on-year growth of 4.1%.

The simultaneous development of a foreign language version of this standard will provide a basis for carbon emissions accounting for construction waterproofing material manufacturers in relevant countries.
